The Combier distillery is the oldest in activity in the Loire Valley. Founded in 1834, it has remained anchored ever since on the same plot in the heart of Saumur. From the start, the distillery took full advantage of its position deep in the "Garden of France" to source local produce: fruit, flowers and medicinal plants. More exotic ingredients: spices and citrus fruits would have arrived on traditional boats from the Atlantic port of Nantes.

The first Triple Sec ever produced! L'Original Combier is an iconic orange liqueur invented in 1834 by founder Jean-Baptiste Combier who created the distillery around its success. It has been produced in the same 19th century copper stills in Saumur ever since with unique craftsmanship. Boasting a nose of clean, fragrant orange blossom bouquet, its rich and juicy mouth feel combines the freshness of bitter orange zest with the roundness of sweet orange to create a rich finale with memorable length. It is an irreplaceable ingredient in many a classic cocktail such as Margarita, Cosmopolitan, White Lady, and more.
